Summary
One moment, Kim Da Jeong was an ordinary office worker. The next, she was Christine Rosaline, the notorious villainess destined for an early, gruesome end in a novel she’d only just started reading. Miraculously, her sudden possession of Christine’s body grants her a temporary reprieve from death, but the clock is ticking. A mysterious voice warns her: ‘A world collapsed, characters all distorted. If you want to live, you must know who you are.’ To survive, she’s told she *must* embrace the role of a villain, a path utterly alien to her kind nature. Adding to her despair, Christine carries the burden of a ‘half-life’ fate, making her existence inherently difficult.
As Da Jeong struggles to navigate this twisted reality, unexpected figures emerge from the shadows. There’s Raymond Myers, the original novel’s male lead and Christine’s sworn enemy; Diane Schneider, a powerful, malevolent witch unknown in the original story; and Cordelia Parker, the original heroine and, shockingly, the creator of this very world. Each approaches Da Jeong with their own hidden agendas, pulling her deeper into a dangerous web of intrigue. Can an unwilling villainess rewrite her tragic destiny and find a way to truly live, or is she doomed to play a part she never chose? Read chapter 1 to uncover her fate!
